Mews Customer Profiles
Gift Voucher Buyer
Mews customer profiles are automatically created by the integration when a voucher or gift card is purchased from your sales page, or a manual order is created from your account dashboard.
A customer profile for the gift voucher buyer is automatically created at the time of purchase.
A bill is then created for the buyer at the selected property to record the gift voucher sale. The gift voucher sale product (configured during setup) is added to the bill.
The value of the gift voucher product matches the purchase value of the gift voucher. An external payment for the same amount is also added to the bill, resulting in a zero balance. The bill is then automatically closed.
Information about the gift voucher purchase is also added to the buyer’s account notes for reference.
Gift Voucher Recipient
If the gift voucher is purchased as a gift and the recipient's details are provided at the time of purchase, a guest profile is created for the recipient.
Details of the gifted voucher are then added to the recipient’s account notes for reference.
If the buyer is also the intended recipient, both sets of account notes are added to the same profile.
Redeeming vouchers and gift cards to Mews
1. From the product redeem screen in your VoucherCart account, select the location where the gift voucher will be redeemed.
2. Enable Send to Mews to turn on the Mews integration.
3. Select the customer profile to redeem the gift voucher to:
a. By default, the customer will be set to the recipient profile specified at purchase.
b. To change the customer, select the customer name and begin typing the new customer’s name.
4. Once a customer is selected, their open bills will be displayed. Select an open bill to proceed.
- If the customer has no open bills, select Create a new bill.
5. Review the details and click Redeem to complete the process.
6. The redemption is applied to the selected customer bill as the gift voucher redemption product (configured during setup).
