Create a specific additional service for gift vouchers in Mews
1. From your Mews dashboard go to Menu then Settings and then Services.
2. Click on the [+] button at the top right and select Additional service.
View the Mews article on creating a service for a gift voucher.
3. Give the service a name for example "Gift Voucher".
4. Select the currency of the Gift Voucher, this must match the sale currency of your VoucherCart account.
5. Leave the amount as '0'.
6. Select the tax rate for your Gift Vouchers, this can vary per country so always consult with your finance team.
7. Ensure Has overridable price is checked, all other options can be configured as per your requirements.
8. Select an accounting category, we recommend setting up a specific accounting category for Gift Vouchers to track your revenue.
9. Click Create.
We now need to add two new products to the service. One will be used to record the gift voucher sale and the other will be used to record gift voucher redemption in Mews.
10. Click Products (located in the service).
11. Click on the [+] button at the top right and select Product to add a new product to the service.
12. Give the product a name, this will be our sale product so we will call it 'Gift Voucher Sale'
13. In amount, ensure this is set to '0.00' (VoucherCart will set this automatically)
14. Select the product currency, ensure this matches the sale currency of your gift vouchers.
15. Set the tax rate for your product this can vary per country so always consult with your finance team.
16. Click Create
Now we need do the same again for the redemption product, follow steps 11-16 to create the redemption product. You should then have two products, one which will be applied at sale and one that will be applied at redeem
Connecting VoucherCart to your Mews Property
1. Navigate to the Mews Marketplace and search ‘VoucherCart’ then click Explore
2. Click Connect integration to add VoucherCart to your Mews property
Next, you need to copy the Access Token generated by Mews.
3. Navigate to My Subscriptions
4. Click Edit
5. Click the Key icon
6. Copy the Access Token displayed
Next, log in to your VoucherCart account.
7. Click Integrations
8. Then next to Mews click Connect
9. Click Connect Integration
10. Place the Access Token copied from Mews into the Mews Access Token field
11. Select the VoucherCart redeem location associated with this property
12. A new option, Use this property to record gift voucher sales, will be displayed. This setting determines where gift voucher sales are recorded. Select this checkbox for the property you want to use (if this is the first property you are connecting then the checkbox cannot be unchecked)
Please note only ONE property can be used to record all gift voucher sales and a property MUST be selected.
13. Then click Next
14. Select the service which contains the gift voucher sale and redeem products for this property.
15. Select the gift voucher sale product to be used by the integration.
16. Select the gift voucher redeem product to be used by the integration.
17. Then click Next.
18. Select the payment type to be used when recording the gift voucher sale.
19. Select the accounting category to be used when recording the gift voucher sale.
20. When finished, click Save.
21. To add another property, click Add Property and follow the same steps as above.
