Create a specific additional service for gift vouchers in Mews
1. From your Mews dashboard go to Menu then Settings and then Services.
2. Click on the [+] button at the top right and select Additional service.
View the Mews article on creating a service for a gift voucher.
3. Give the service a name for example "Gift Voucher".
4. Select the currency of the Gift Voucher, this must match the sale currency of your VoucherCart account.
5. Leave the amount as '0'.
6. Select the tax rate for your Gift Vouchers, this can vary per country so always consult with your finance team.
7. Ensure Has overridable price is checked, all other options can be configured as per your requirements.
8. Select an accounting category, we recommend setting up a specific accounting category for Gift Vouchers to track your revenue.
9. Click Create.
10. Now click Products.
11. Add two new products to your new service, one will be used to record the gift voucher sales and the other will be used to record gift voucher redemptions in Mews. For example "Gift Voucher Purchase" and Gift Voucher Redemption"
Update your Mews Integration settings
1. Navigate to Integrations.
2. Then click Details.
3. Then Edit Property.
4. A new option, Use this property to record gift voucher sales, will be displayed. This setting determines where gift voucher sales are recorded. Select this checkbox for the property you want to use.
Please note only ONE property can be used to record all gift voucher sales and a property MUST be selected.
5. Click Next.
6. Select the service which contains the gift voucher sale and redeem products for this property.
7. Select the gift voucher sale product to be used by the integration.
8. Select the gift voucher redeem product to be used by the integration.
9. Then click Next.
10. The payment type will be preselected based on your previous setup. You can update the payment type if required, or leave it as selected.
11. The accounting category will also be preselected based on your previous setup.
You can update the accounting category if required, or leave it as selected.
12. When finished, click Save.
Each configured property must be updated to ensure the integration functions correctly with Payment at purchase enabled.
