Can I set the expiry period for my vouchers?

Set an expiry date or redemption period for your vouchers

Yes. VoucherCart provides two ways to control when vouchers can be redeemed, allowing you to choose the option that best suits your business.

Option 1: Redeem Window

A Redeem Window lets you specify a start date and end date during which the voucher can be redeemed.

This option is configured individually for each voucher and is ideal for time-specific products, such as:

  • Event tickets

  • Seasonal experiences

  • Promotions with fixed redemption dates

Outside of the redemption window, the voucher cannot be redeemed.

Option 2: Voucher Expiry Period

A Voucher Expiry Period sets the length of time a voucher remains valid from the date of purchase.

This is the most commonly used expiry method and is suitable for gift vouchers and experiences that can be redeemed at any time within the validity period.

Common expiry periods include:

  • 3 months

  • 6 months

  • 9 months

  • 12 months

Choose the expiry option that best meets your business requirements and any applicable consumer legislation in your region.
