VoucherCart allows you to create discount codes that customers can apply during checkout. You can create:
A single multi-use discount code that can be shared with multiple customers.
A batch of single-use discount codes that expire after they have been redeemed once.
If you want to create a different type of discount, such as an Open Discount or Physical Card Cardholder Discount, please refer to the relevant help guide.
Create a new discount
1. Open the Discounts page
Log in to your VoucherCart dashboard.
From the main navigation, go to Discounts. (1)
Click Add Discount.
Select Create Discount Code(s).
2. Configure the discount
Enter a Title for the discount (for internal reference only). (4)
Choose the Discount Type and Discount Value. (5)
Fixed Amount - deducts a fixed value from the order.
Percentage - deducts a percentage of the order value.
Set the Validity Period. (6)
Active From is required.
To set an expiry date, untick Unlimited and enter an Active To date.
3. Set optional conditions and redemption limits
If required, you can configure additional rules for the discount:
Minimum Order Value (7) - Requires customers to spend a minimum amount before the discount can be applied.
Redemption limits (8)
Maximum Number of Uses - Limits the total number of times the discount can be used before it expires.
Maximum Number of Uses Per Buyer - Limits how many times the same buyer (based on their email address) can use the discount.
Tip:
Leave both options unchecked if you want the discount to have unlimited uses. You can still control availability by setting an end date in the validity period.
Choose your discount code type
Select the required option from the Discount Code Type dropdown.

Choose this option to create one discount code that can be used multiple times. (9.1)
Enter the code that customers will enter during checkout to receive the discount. (9.2)

Choose this option to create single-use discount codes.
You can either:
Enter the quantity of codes you want VoucherCart to generate automatically. (10.1)
Select Add Your Own Codes and paste your own codes into the text box, with one code per line. (10.2)
Select which vouchers the discount applies to
Choose one of the following options:
All Existing Vouchers
All Existing Vouchers
Applies the discount to all current vouchers. (11.1)
Untick Including Not Yet Created Vouchers if you do not want future vouchers to inherit the discount. (11.2)
Specific Voucher(s)
Specific Voucher(s)
Select the individual vouchers to which the discount should apply (12.1). You can choose from both active and inactive vouchers, allowing discounts to be configured before a voucher goes on sale.
Save the discount
Click Save to create the discount.
Please Note:
Once created, only the following settings can be edited:
Title
Validity period
Applicable vouchers
Using the discount
When an active discount applies to a voucher, customers will see a Discount Code field during checkout. (13)
They simply enter the discount code and click Apply to redeem the offer. (14)
Please Note:
The Discount Code field is only displayed when an active discount is available for the voucher being purchased.
