Oracle Opera Cloud PMS - How to redeem a gift voucher or gift card against a reservation

About the Opera Cloud Integration

The Oracle Opera integration with VoucherCart allows you to update a customer’s reservation account balance directly from your VoucherCart dashboard.

When you redeem a guest's voucher or gift card onto a reservation, it will show as a ‘Deposit Payment’ within Opera and automatically adjust the balance of the reservation account accordingly.

You can redeem a guest's voucher through VoucherCart by inputting the guest's name, check-in date, room number, and/or confirmation number.

The VoucherCart integration with Oracle Opera supports multi-property redemption. Individual properties are connected to your VoucherCart redeem locations. Changing the redeem location during the redemption process allows you to select the Opera property you want to redeem at.

Redeeming a product to an Opera Cloud guest reservation

To redeem any voucher or gift card against an Opera reservation, first enable 'Redeem against OPERA reservation' in the redeem modal.

  1. Ensure the correct redeem location is selected - The redeem location is connected to your property. Changing the redeem location also changes the property our integration uses when searching for a reservation and redeeming a gift voucher.

Please note: If a VoucherCart user's permissions are set to just one location, this location will be automatically pre-selected as the redeem location

2. Toggle on 'Redeem against OPERA reservation' - This enables the Opera integration in the redeem window, and the options in box 3 below will appear.

3. Enter the guest’s reservation details such as Surname (last name), check-in date, and/or confirmation number.

4. Select the guest's reservation from the list.

5. Enter the value or quantity to be redeemed against the reservation.

6. Toggle on/off 'Send redeem email notification' - If enabled, this will send the buyer/recipient an email confirmation that their gift voucher has been redeemed. Depending on your process for redeeming gift vouchers to Opera, you may wish to disable email send on redeem to avoid confusing customers prior to their arrival date.

7. Click ‘Redeem’.

The value of the redemption is now added to the guest's reservation as a ‘Deposit Payment’ within Opera and automatically adjusts the balance of the reservation account accordingly.
