How to correctly setup your Mews PMS Integration settings for VoucherCart Reservations Module

In this guide, we will explain how to set up Mews Property Management System for VoucherCart Reservations. This guide will explain setup:

a) if you already have Mews connected

b) if this is the first time you are connecting Mews

This article assumes you have VoucherCart Reservations enabled for your account.

To set up Mews PMS for VoucherCart Reservations Module, log in to your dashboard and follow the instructions below:

a) Setup for an existing Mews connection

1. Navigate to 'Integrations' in the main navigation menu.

2. Click 'Details', next to the MEWS Integration field.

3. Click 'Edit property'.

4. You should not need to modify any settings here unless you wish to update the Redeem Locations associated with this property. For now click 'Next'.

5. You can now select the payment type used for this property when the value of the voucher or gift card is added to Mews as an external payment. Below is a list for you to select from, of all available payment types provided by Mews for use with the integration:

  • Cash

  • Credit Card

  • Unspecified (unavailable in French Legal Environment)

  • Invoice

  • Wire Transfer

  • Bacs

  • Cross Settlement

  • Twint

  • Deposit Wire Transfer

6. Select the accounting category you wish to associate with these payments.

7. Select the service (configured in Mews) for VoucherCart Reservations to use when guests make a booking with this property. Eg. Accommodation.

8. For properties that are set up for City Tax on guest stays you can choose to display to guests that 'City Tax' is included when they are making their booking as in the screenshot below.

9. Click 'Save' to complete the property configuration.

Follow the above steps for each connected property individually.

10. For GROSS pricing environments where tax is included in the price, you can choose to display or hide taxes from the reservation summary - as below.

11. Toggle on to auto-close the Mews bill, if you wish, if there is no outstanding balance remaining on the reservation after the voucher has been redeemed.

12. When you have finished click 'Close'.

b) Setup for a new Mews connection

1. Navigate to 'Integrations' in the main navigation.

2. Click 'Connect'.

3. Then click 'Connect Integration'

4. Provide the Mews Access Token for this property.

5. Select the Redeem Location to be associated with this property.

6. Click 'Next'.

7. You can now select the payment type terminology used for this property when the value of the voucher or gift card is added to Mews as an external payment. Below is a list for you to select from, of all available payment types provided by Mews for use with the integration:

  • Cash

  • Credit Card

  • Unspecified (unavailable in French Legal Environment)

  • Invoice

  • Wire Transfer

  • Bacs

  • Cross Settlement

  • Twint

  • Deposit Wire Transfer
