What is the VoucherCart Reservations Module?

The VoucherCart Reservations Module (VRM) is an add-on to our Property Management System integrations. It is designed to enhance voucher redemption, allowing voucher holders to redeem their vouchers seamlessly via a self-serve portal hosted by VoucherCart and integrated with your PMS.

It leverages your existing PMS setup for availability, close-outs, rate restrictions, and product rules while also supporting independently configurable reservation restrictions for greater flexibility.

VoucherCart Reservations is currently compatible with the following Property Management Systems:

  • Oracle OPERA Cloud

  • Mews PMS

Using the VoucherCart Reservations Module

Once the VoucherCart Reservations Module is successfully connected and you have created compatible vouchers or gift cards, when sold or issued, these can be used by guests to make reservations at your hotel. The voucher value can be applied as a full or partial payment for their stay. The guest can access your reservations page by using the new link provided in the sidebar and footer of your sales page.

The URL for your reservations page will be yoursubdomain.vouchercart.com/reservation.

Please note: Vouchers and gift cards must be sold as compatible types to be redeemable using the VoucherCart Reservations Module.

The voucher recipient will receive their voucher or gift card with additional information on how to redeem online using the VoucherCart Reservations Module.
In addition, there is information provided on the sales page, as shown above.

The voucher holder is provided with a link to your VoucherCart Reservations page, where they can start the reservation process by entering their redemption code.

The voucher holder will then be given information about their voucher and any restrictions they should be aware of when making their booking.

The voucher holder will then continue through the booking process (just as in a traditional booking engine) by selecting their room type, rate plan (based on your selections during voucher creation), and any upgrades or add-ons that you have decided to allow for that particular rate plan.

At the end of the process, the booker's details and payment information are taken and automatically added to the guest's profile and reservation inside the PMS.

When the guest completes the reservation, the voucher or gift card is automatically marked as partially or fully redeemed inside your VoucherCart dashboard, and the value is added to the reservation as a full or partial payment.

If there is any remaining balance to be paid on the reservation, this will likely be handled by your PMS directly.
