The VoucherCart platform allows you to create discount codes that can be applied to the cart during the checkout. This guide will explain how you can create:
A multi-use code can be distributed to multiple buyers to use
A list of single-use codes that expire after the first use

Follow the steps below:
1. Login to your dashboard.
2. Navigate to Discounts from the main navigation.
3. Click Add discount.
4. You will be presented with two or three options (dependant on if you use Physical Cards), select Create Discount Code(s).
5. Give the discount a title (this is for internal use only).
6. Set a discount value and type. Discounts can be fixed amount or percentage of the original voucher value.
7. Set a validity period. All discounts need an Active From date. To set an end date, uncheck Unlimited and enter the Active To date.
8. If you wish to set conditions for this discount, you can tick the Minimum order value and apply the minimum amount the buyer is required to spend before the discount can be applied.
9. You can set Redemption restrictions:
a. Maximum number of uses - limits on how many times this discount can be used before it is removed from the sales page. e.g. it will only sell 50 times and then disappear.
b. Set the maximum number of uses per buyer - limits how many times the same buyer can use the discount. This is based on the buyer's email address. e.g. the code can be used only once by every buyer.
Please Note!
Leave both unchecked for unlimited use. REMEMBER! You can control the availability of the discount by setting an End Date for the Validity Period.
Depending on the discount code you want to create select the option from the dropdown menu and follow steps 10 or 11:
10. Codes (each code can be used only once): choose this if you want to create one-time use codes.
a. If you want the systems to generate the codes for you, provide the quantity.
b. If you want to use your own codes select Add your own codes and list the codes on the text field (ensure each code is on its line).
11. Single code for discount: choose this if you want to generate a single code that can be used multiple times during the checkout
a. Provide the name of the code, which the customer needs to use for the discount to be applied
12. Select one of two options:
a. All existing vouchers: apply the discount to all vouchers. Remember to uncheck Including not yet created vouchers if you do not wish the discount to be applied to new vouchers created.
b. Specific voucher(s): select the vouchers the discount will be applied to from your list of active and inactive vouchers. Note: you can set a discount in advance to be applied to a future voucher.
13. Click Save to finish.
Please Note: After the discount is created, you can only edit the: title, discount validity window and vouchers the code can be applied to.
14. The discount code is entered in the Discount code field and applied to the purchase when the buyer clicks Apply. Note: the Discount code field will only appear on vouchers that have discounts applied and during the times the discounts are active.
